Default MSD Starter and Headers

Hey guys I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on some new lt's and I'm wondering about fit ment issues with my msd starter. I'm looking at ARH but it seems to me some people had issues with it fitting the 1-7/8" arh headers. Can anyone help me out here if not I'll have to go and look into kooks.

Thanks

yup I actually saw your thread! I'm either going with kooks or arh and I saw some people couldnt get them to fit and then others never posted followups. so im hoping someone can give a definitive answer on if they fit? if not I'll be ordering kooks. i love my msd starter too much to give it up for arh when kooks are just as good

Damnit I have no pictures of it, but I can attest to the MSD starter fitting with TSP 1 7/8"

the starter will clear the kooks 1-7/8 and tsp but the design of the arh's wont allow it to clear the msd for anyone wondering here in the future

I have Kooks 1 7/8 and the MSD starter but I havent put the passenger side header back on to see if it clears.

I took the header off and I had to dismantle the starter to clock the solenoid away from the header, then check ring gear clearence, then check pinion gear mesh. Then I put the solenoid back on the starter and connected the wires and had to do a bit of arranging to get wires safely routed.

I mounted the header loosely until I get power back to the car to see if I installed the solenoid correctly. Hope to get it cranked over next weekend, still working on other car issues!

Any reason your staying away from the stainless more cost effcient tsp 1 7/8ths? You have 3^^ with tsp stainless that fit.

I'm not sure if you were referring to me justin but the reason is that I've dropped my motor before and messed around with motor mounts without a lift and thats not something I was wanting to take apart again to install new headers which is common place with tsp's. I'm not saying tsp's make a bad product by any means though.

Also by the time everything was said and done I spent about 200 more for the ARH's than I would have on the tsp's. The arh's usually slide up without removing anything which I am a huge fan of lol.

The final reason is that at the end of the day if I was trying to keep modding my car really cheap I wouldn't have very many mods lol. But in this case I would rather support an American company that makes their stuff here out of U.S steel rather than paying for an overseas product that doesnt keep American industry going. Again I don think tsp makes a bad product but $200 bucks for what I'm only going to do once isnt a big hit. Not to mention when I asked tsp about header choice their customer service was less than stellar.
