Stall when put in gear
So I cant figure out what is going on with this car... I start the car and it idles normal then if I give it gas when it comes back down it comes really close to dying but usually catches itself and stays running back at a normal idle. (I blame that on I need a tune since the engine build with t9 cam) However as soon as I hit the brake and drop it into gear the car stalls without a second thought. Its just like it feels the load of the trans and does nothing to counteract it. Any one have any ideas?

Stock converter, and a 700 r4 I'm not replacing the converter until I do the tranny build later on
How do I check the idle air control motor, Ohm it? Or just put some voltage to it off the car

there are special tools that will actaully activate the iac for you but no dont just put 12 volts to it, thats a good way to wreck it, i would just try cleaing it first and see if that helps, agree with SEPSIS that a tune is most likely your issue, i put a cam in my old 96 vortec half ton, wasnt very big maybe 480 lift and the thing would hardly stay running before i tuned it. get the tune out of the way first before ya start chasing too many non existent problems,

Sounds like a vaccum issue to me. Can I ask why you didn't get a converter with that somewhat of a mild cam. You know it's gonna act like a pig right. And running the stock converter with a decent cam will always have vaccum/surging/powering through the brakes isssues.
