the blurred line outlines the entire "shadow" and the whole port looks picture enhanced.

Work was done on the photo to try to lighten up the shadowing in order to see down the runner better. The FAST 102 runner (as in the photo) doesn't have the ridge you are referring to. On the FAST 92, we do remove that ridge.

An intake should be ported to match the cylinder heads you will be using. Porting a intake by just removing random material seems stupid imo. Could be wrong though.
