Default Underhood makeover

I finally decided it was time to make my engine bay look like a respectable small block chevy actually resided there. Nothing annoys me more than the Corvette crowd that pays big money to have their hoodliners painted with random stupidity and then pays even more money to cover everything under hood with finely painted plastic covers. So the direction I went:

1. moved ignition coils to the inner frame rails on both sides via Ebay brackets, MSD cut to fit wires, and harness extensions.

2. GMPP valve covers, painted in VHT crinkle black valve cover paint with the "CHEVROLET" logo and letters sanded down to the bare aluminum.

3. FAST 90mm intake with logo and texture sanded flat, followed by 2 coats of sandable primer and 5 coats of VHT semi-gloss black engine enamel paint (wet sanded in between coats with 800 grit)

4. Black anodized fuel rails

5. Deleted AIR and EVAP system

6. PCV system deleted. Passenger side valve cover with breather cap, valley cover runs to CCA vented catch can. All ports on intake plugged off.

7. Factory air bridge with smooth silicone coupler and Spectre Works black air filter. I did cut a hole in the plastic radiator shroud so that the filter actually sits in the cut out and pulls cold air from in front of the radiator. I was very careful in measuring and cutting to ensure that even when looking from above, you'd have to have a very sharp eye to notice that there is a hole cut in the shroud.

8. Lastly, removed factory hoodliner and painted with dupont semi-gloss black paint.

Enjoy!!
