To what I read, yes, I think it will be worth the swap. What HP are you making right now? Going turbo? Nitrous? Or just natural aspirated?

I think a 92mm FAST intake would be good for you, really depends on your build.

Not being rude or anything but as far as I know 102mm intakes cant be ported, I mean they can, but I have read from a member on here that its no difference for what you pay the extra bucks for porting the 102mm intake manifold, there isnt much to port.

Hopefully a expert or better knowledgeable person will schime in and help.

Tony Mamo is the guy that started porting the fast intakes, hes got more hourd in modifying and testing the fast stuff than probably the next five people combined...you can searh his posts for yourself and find:

1) why the 102 is superior to the 92, which is a period end of story sort of thing.

2) why porting is worth it if you are trying to get every last pony out of the mod.

3) Ive never seen a single post anywhere where someone was not happy with his work or service...I cant say enough good about him. His stuff costs top dollar and its worth every penny.

From Tony:
A stock head can benefit from a properly reworked FAST.....the 317 heads in the comparison I linked above might flow 255 CFM's or so (they were bone stock....unported heads). Your 243 heads flow alot more than that. The better the heads the larger the gain from the swap as I have mentioned previously but your combination will certainly benefit from the better manifold.dumGo 102....its a much better designed intake out of the box and due to its different build/construction design allows me to port it differently (allows me freedoms with the grinder I would have put a hole in the former 78/90/92 series) which compounds the gains even further from the swap. On a really good combination my ported 102 could be worth 10+ more HP over one of my former ported 90/92 intakes (which were no slouches and typically worth a 20-25 RWHP improvement....even more than that if the baseline intake was a LS1/LS2 manifold).Shoot me a PM if you have an interest in getting something going or have any more questions related to your particular build.-Tony

If you are going to a 102, why not port it?

I picked up 12Rwhp and 14Rwtq with NO tuning and some issues swapping from an ls6 intake to a ported 102 intake.. This was on a small cam budget built setup.

Thats a great gain. Is that 12/14 accross the whole chart? Do you have a dyno sheet?

Before I did my build, the info I had was I would see a 5-10wrhp gain accross the board. Accross the board was def worth it to me so I went with a fast 92 setup.

Go for it OP

That has been roughly about 2 years.. I don't think my tuner ever mailed me the sheet cause it was an F'd up dyno day. I did 1 pull and got the car off the rollers because of issues.

From what I can remember, I didn't lose power anywhere.. The gains were less down low but no power loss anywhere above 3K.
