I been looking around for used LM catbacks, but iv decided i want to get a new one. Cheapest iv found is like 380 w/ shipping, looking to spend around 340-350 with shipping. Anybody know which one of our sponsors has the best deal??

And also just another qucikie, will the filter from the stock lid, work in an aftermarket SLP lid?

Your stock filter will work with an aftermarket lid. Depending on what lid you get you will probably have to get a breather filter for the air system. Just shop around for the best price on your cat back. Good luck.

www.not-a-sponsor.com SLP is about a week behind, so you may need to wait 7-10 days.

But after the LM it was a lot louder, a little more raspy when cold, but i could definetely feel it. some of it was probably just the loud, caseu I think loud cars inherently feel faster...

Yeah, you can "feel" a difference, but since as noted sound and feel are sort-of one in the same, I got numbers for ya. My '98 T/A bone stock w/ 2.73 A4 ran consistent 9.1..s, with SLP lid and K&N 9.0..s, with previous plus SLP LM 8.8..s at 81. Sorry only 1/8th numbers, all I've been to. Forgot the speeds from earlier runs too, but they gradually increased just like the e.t.

Now if I can ever get a new gear...

Well, the drone will be there with just the LM. I can't stand it on the long highway drves... Not bad if you have the windows down or the T's out... but I just added SLP LT's and an ORY and I can't drive the car. Rasp is not the word, Loud is not the word either... it is just plain stupid. I put my stock cat-back on last night and seemed to make it almost silent at an idle, but when I wack it, back comes the rasp and it is still very loud... I am kind of upset. If you are looking to do headers down the road, DO NOT get the loudmouth now, you're only wasting your money...

BlackT/A...

You went with the flowmaster cat-back huh... How does it sound? How much did it run you? Are you happy now with the performance and sound? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just really disgusted I spent all this money and can't drive the car. I would get pulled over before I made it out of my driveway in my small town...

Actually I picked it up for free from a local performance shop who was taking it off another customer's car, and I think it was like $130 or so to swap it out. Normally I think the Flowmaster catback retails for around $350 or so.

Performance wise...well, I here that its supposed to be the worst flowing catback out there, but whatever, I'll just get a cut out. The sound is absolutely amazing, Sounds smooth and deep, and is still plenty loud, with no rasp at all. No drone on the highway either, which was one of the things that I hated about the LM.

Agreed, a LM now is a waste of moneyt if youre planning on headers anytime soon. This is what im doing. Edelbrock long tubes from summit for 387 shipped to my door with all emissions fittings ready to be welded on (you have to weld these bad boys up) with O2 extensions. Then true duals dumped at the axle with an H-pipe for 175 and 2-2.5" bullet mufflers for 30 bucks each. so ill get race headers (best design out there imo), O2 extensions, true duals w/ H-pipe for only $622. Yeah, its a lot, but the bullet mufflers are pretty much a LM, only a bit quieter and no rasp. Plus, the rasp is coming from the Y-pipe, so true duals are the only real way to get that sound we all need...
