I guess what I'm trying to say here, is the headers hang very low, low enough to where you can't travel over most obsticles in the road that you normally could...if I still had the stock setup this probably would have never happened, and you cant really see the manhole cover until your on the tracks just about to hit it. And NO the car is not lowered!

Damn man, that bites big time. I never had a problem with my SLP's and being lowered. Man I was looking at the pic and couldn't believe it. I'm surprised they are still bolted to the head. Good luck on getting everything taken care of. I will keep an extra look out for lil road hazards like that.

After hearing the story... it's kind of a moot point that "any other header would have survived"... may be the SLP headers actually saved something else.
..My friend hit a pothole once in his Golf and smashed the radiator... I guess VW doesn't have any idea how to design radiator locations either...
..and there is no need to drive over a broken pavement to notice that SLP's hang lower than stock. ...just look under the car.

The roads in this state complete suck! They just are NOT meant for sports cars...that's why everyone else drives trucks here...Hmmmm That Dodge SRT-10 is looking pretty sweet right about now!

Hmm dude I have SLP LT's on my ride and no issues either.. and no problems laying down #'s and track times. I go over speed bumps VERY carefully though and also over anything that could remotely be construed as a bump lol Remember its a sports car not a 4x4 lol

Come to MN with your car and drive THESE roads and I'll tell you what you will think, "it's more of a chore than a joy ride thats for sure"...I was just in vegas 2 weeks ago and it's nice for all you out there...everything is flat! (except if you drive into casino parking ramps etc...you know what I mean!)

That sucks man. I have Pacesetters. They tuck up under the car almost too much(problems with the y-pipe fitting). I would rather have my problem than yours though. Good luck with the Kooks!

Those man hole covers sticking up like that suck. All though I have personally seen the same exact thing happen to ricers with lowered cars, & it could have been worse, most of the time when it gets lowered imports they lose their Oil pan & tranny pan.
Now you know better and I'm sure that your next set will be some of the better headers that tuck up nicely.

Check with TPIS in Chaska their headers fit great and they are local so if you have any problems.
You might want to stay out of downtown with that thing. I sure wouldn't drive mine down there.

Theres nothing wrong with SLP LT's but the clearence loss. I just watch what I'm about to go over. I have SLP LT's and I haven't had any problem with them. I love them and the power gain that I got. If you just go slow over bad roads and speed bumps etc. you will be fine and its easier on your car. Just my opinion.
