need to quiet the car down
need to quiet the car down I have a 99 ss with SLP longtubes, cats and an ATR catback. I love the way it works and sounds. The problem is that I Autox and they have a 94db @50ft sound limit at on track and 90 db@75ft at the other. My car wants to run the smaller courses in 1st gear, but I pegged the sound meter at 97db@50ft. So I need to find a removable way to cut sound at these events.
I have seen the dynotech cone inserts for 60.00 that Slip in the tailpipes, or I can get a small clamp on supertrap to go on the end of the tailpipe for 90.00.
Has anyone tried the cones? do they work?

A bullet muffler is a straight through muffler. Putting it permanently in the I pipe will not hinder your exhaust's performance, will reduce rasp, and should help reduce your dB count. It's a common mod which may actually make your daily driving more enjoyable. Just tryin' to help ya out.
