Default Electric Water Pump ??

Hey guys, so my stock water pump just went out. My question is should i just replace it with a stock water pump or am i really going to gain much from installing an electric water pump. Id like to get my car to 450 at the wheels, and if i can get about 8-10hp out of an electric water pump i would say it may be worth it. Currently i am just running an cold air intake, Kooks LTs and TSP true duels, with custom tune. Can i get some feedback on this and what you all are running. Thanks

From what I have been reading its a hit or miss. Some gain 3-5 others gain nothing. To hit 450 I would to with a Torquer V3 cam, stage 2.5 Ls6 heads, and a Fast 92/92. That should do the trick.

I really like the setup in my sig. It drives great and doesnt lose any low end. I might throw it on a dyno jet one day but I doubt it will get the numbers your looking for.

Like mentioned abouv you will need a good HCI combo to do 450 rwhp. Right now you might be looking at 350 rwhp. If your pump is shot I say go for it. Every little bit counts weather it's 5 or 10 hp

What do you want out of it? I don't mean power. An electric pump is great for stop and go traffic and drag racing. The stocker cannot be beat for flow on road course or just normal driving. The stocker flows more at high rpm but less at low rpm. Pat G got 0 HP out of his electric pump during his 500whp 346 build. Some get 3-5 like posted above.

^^^Yes, if you plan on sitting in staging lanes very often, then go with the Meziere (if you've got the ~$900.00 laying around that is ).

If it is mostly a street car, go with a replacement mechanical pump (stocker, Evans, Edelbrock, etc.).
