Default slave cylinder issues

I have a 2000 camaro ss m6...the clutch feels fine 90% of the time but when ever i dip my foot in the throttle whether it is in gear or clutch in right after the clutch travel moved from half way up the pedal to right at the top of the pedal for one shift, then in the second shift or just clutch down it will only return half way and i have to lift it back up with my foot. if i pump the clutch a good 4-5 times it will just return back to normal. my best guess is slave cylinder, what do you guys think. and what are the steps to replacing the slave cylinder/ master cylinder. thanks.
