5.3 swap... more problems... I have swapped in a 2001 5.3 into a 78 k10, th350. I had some fuel pressure issues so I purchased a new pump assembly, figuring the old one was on its last leg. New pump, still around 50psi... Maybe a little less... I have not replaced the regulator yet and that will be my next step, along with a new inline fuel filter. The one that is on it is only a few months old and hasn't had much fuel through it, but better to be thorough.
I also have a problem with it not throttling up when it is in drive. When in park or neutral, it has no issues revving up, but when in drive, it will drive around ok, but when I put the pedal to the floor, it does not do what it should. I was thinking maybe it could be the throttle position sensor? Maybe the fuel pressure has something to do with this issue? But if the fuel is the problem, why does it act right in park/neutral? Maybe it is an issue with the VSS? It is hooked up with a Dakota Digital pulse generator...
