Header decision
Thanks in advance guys!!!

If you want to save a little money but still get a really nice set of headers, check out the "new" Flowtechs. From what I can tell, Holley has taken their Hooker headers, rebranded them, and knocked about $200 off the price. Based solely off what I've read and my experience with Hooker headers, I would strongly recommend the Flowtechs over the similarly priced Pacesetters. Some may disagree, but that's my opinion.
Any header you buy will require you to replace your stock Y-Pipe. Most header manufacturers offer a Y-Pipe specifically for their product, but few offer a "catted" Y-Pipe and some aren't of the utmost quality. Oftentimes, it's cheaper to have a local exhaust shop custom fabricate a Y-Pipe for you, especially if you need/want cats. In many cases, you'll also need 02 simulators.
In short, if you want the best LS1 headers you can get, go with QTP or Kooks. If you want a great value, spring for a set of Flowtechs. I'd venture to say the only difference you'll feel in the driver's seat is your wallet poking into you a bit deeper because it still holds the roughly $300 you saved by going with the Flowtechs.

that's a pretty common problem...I just like em cuz they come with cats and the test pipes...but I guess I could just get hookers with a catted Y and buy test pipes
