Default Stock Y pipe interchangability

I'm putting an 99 LS motor into a 97 formula and am a little worried about emmissions. The LS1 does not come with cats. There is a local guy selling a full manifolds to tail pipes from an 01 can I use the cats from that setup with the 99 manifolds?

I want to keep the EGR and AIR at least to get past emissions. I don't think it will matter usually ODBCII cars just need to have no codes and everything ready but that is alot of time and money to take a chance!

Thanks!

Yes the only difference between 99 and 01 is the egr placement on the stock manifolds. Saturate the manifolds bolts with on pb blaster it's almost impossible to not break the studs on the manifolds.

So if I buy the 01 front to back I can use the 99 manifolds with the EGR and air then use the 01 Y pipe. Whats said is I'm pretty sure I'm going to throw a cam in it, I just need to get through emissions before I put headers on.

Thanks!

delete the EGR and use the entire 01 exhaust... the 01 manifolds flow better as well
