Arrow Emergency !!! Dash lights flashed on -wont turn over

1999 Trans Am, turned ignition key, it made weird clinking noise, ALL the different dash lights flashed on, then went out, at same time even the rear hatch open.Tried to turn over again, got nothing.totally dead!! Anybody know what this is ? ! I have to be at work in 3 hours!!..Kay

Check the battery cables.

If all of that happened at once I would probably start looking at the BCM.

I would check for power to the fuse box, and bcm. Dont just put a bcm in it without some testing to verify. It is possible that you have a bad connection some where, or some bad fusible links at the starter. So make sure the bcm is getting power!

I had a battery that was shorted one time that had the same exact symptoms you describe.

Yep, my 99' Ws6 did this exact thing. I stopped at a gas station to get a drink & when I came out this is what it did. I replaced the battery & it hasn't done it since. Not sure if a cell went bad in the battery or what.

Start with the cheapest things first, battery & battery cables. Then look at the exciter wire from the alternator, if it's damaged it can effect battery charging.
