Default Porting the LSX intake..

I can't help but wonder why approx 1" into the intake port there is a .125" lip that protrudes into the intake runner. It appears as if it is the inner removable section of the intake. We had heard a rumor that FAST screwed up this area during manufacturing! There is no way that it is helping air flow!

Those of you that have these intakes, do you know what I am talking about? I also see a few areas that can use some better contouring. It also looks like I am going to need to do some port matching to match my intake ports of my stroker heads. Anyone done any major cleanups to this intake??

I am port matching and removing those "lips" you mentioned.

I remove those lips on every intake I install and have gotten good results. There are other parts in the intake that need work to get the most out of it.

I can't understand that after all that design and hype that it looks like it does!

What else are you removing?

Also has anyone every flowed the intake with and without some slight re-contouring?

HT, Use yours as the test goat , then whe will take the dremel to mine. I think you need to buy a flow bench for that shop of yours.
