LS6 valley cover conversion - what's this part?!?

Hi all, first post here, normally search and lurk to get what I need. Now I need some help.

I did the LS1 to LS6 valley cover today. I also installed a new OPSU to hopefully stop a pesky oil leak. Also did new knock sensors and the wiring harness. Everything has gone good so far and I'm letting the intake dry overnight (soaked it in dish detergent and purple power to remove the oil and gunk inside). I removed the fuel rails and the sensor on the back of the intake manifold before i soaked it (duh). Also removed the purge solenoid.

However, as I'm cleaning up, I see this clip-like button thing underneath the car on the pavement kinda on the driver's side right behind the k-member. It's plastic except for the part underneath the button part which is metal. Pics are attached. Anyone know what the hell it is? Thanks!

For less than $100, this is a great mod. And yes, I agree with 01ssreda4 -- check before you start!

I haven't found the answer to this anywhere. Since you have an LS6 block do you still have to cut into it in order for the valley cover to fit?

that is the inside from the opsu, but in order to even get that out you have to break it open. it basically works like a button and there is a "plastic film" that depresses the button when the oil pressure rises on the opposite side on the plastic film

if you looks at the one on the left you can see "the button" sticking out the white part

Yes, definitely the inside of the opsu, had to fish that out of the #7 intake port when I did my valley cover, fun.
