Factory Head Comparisons??? Tried looking but didn't find what I was looking for.
I have a 97' C5 with the first year LS1. 54K miles.
A 46' Harvester street rod I am swapping in an 04' 5.3L LM7
I was able to read up on the 5.3L and read how good those heads are especially when ported which I plan to do. I am planning on a cam swap, having the 5.3L heads worked over, headers, custom CAI, and a tune.
Hoping to get over 400/400 to the tires. Thoughts???
As far as the Vette/LS1 goes. What heads should I go with? 243 are $$$. LS2 heads are the 243's as well just without the sodium filled valves??
I have access to the 4.8L & 5.3L motors often and could score another set of those heads for free. Are they the same heads on the 4.8 and 5.3?
And are those a big upgrade to my 241 LS1 heads? If so, this would be a low cost heads/cam upgrade for me.
