04 GTO PS pulley
04 GTO PS pulley I have a 2004 Pontiac GTO with an aftermarket ps pump. The pulley is not aligned to the other pulleys and it is causing the belts to get thrown. There is not much room between the pulley and the fans to play with. We used a pulley installer to get the pulley as close to the other pulleys as we could. Any suggestions on how to get it evenly lined up, without having to take off the fans and all of that?

Don't tap it with a hammer, the shaft floats in the pump, hitting the shaft usually results in breaking the back plate, they are very brittle.
Pull it off the motor, push the pulley on a little at a time till it lines up.
I know it's a pain, but it's the right way.
What was wrong with the pulley made for this application?

I appreciate the help. The current pulley is toast. It's got a bunch of cracks all on it now and it its fitting is very loose around the shaft that connects it to the pump.
The last pulley broke apart from the pump. The broken shaft piece was so rusted on the pulley I had to get a new pulley as well. I still have the old one, I'm going to see if I can get it off the broken shaft and installed on the new pump. Thanks again.
