Rasp goes away when driven at higher rpms for a while...?
Today something odd happened. I was driving a bit spiritedly and cuising at higher rpms than I normally would. I droped back down and all of a sudden all of my rasp was gone. It didn't matter how I drove it, it was smooth and throaty all the way through the rpm band for the rest of my drive. I let the car sit a bit and went out for a drive and the rasp was back until I drove around at higher rpms for a while again.
Can anyone explain why this may be happening?

I think it might have something to do with the muffler working more efficiently canceling out the sound waves since it exhaust temperature is noticeably hotter in the I-pipe location than further back in the stock location; but I could be wrong.
