gut intake manifold?
I'm about to finish up my 388 all bore and I'm wondering what would happen if I gutted an LS1 intake. I have an LS6 intake manifold that I plan on using but I was wondering if I would see any gains but taking the old LS1 intake I have, cutting the bottom out to get inside, cutting all the runners as short as possible (or close to that), and then JB welding it back together. As I see it, the engine would loose a fair-to-good bit of low end torque but then gain a good bit of top end due to the very short runner length and LARGE plumbium (sp?). Any ideas?
