My DBW is not functioning Correctly
88 mustang
2005 5.3/4l60
stock motor except for following mods: ls1 mani, 60lb injectors, trickflow under drive pully set.
on3 78mm T4 snail w/ snow meth on biggest nozzle.
tuned on 87 to 10 psi and made 465 to the wheel
I have a ultra lite boost/vac gauge (needed for story)
now the problem here is that while driving under normal traffic light gas pedal application, I watch the boost/vac needle kind of flutter up and down a little bit then goes away. and then other times when the fluttering happens the gas pedal will stop responding totally and the car will idle like its on 4 cylinders and dies out.
now its fluttering and stopping the pedal under full throttle and mid throttle and every couple miles.
if I come to a stop and kill power and wait about 30 seconds then fire it up the pedal will work. under 30 sec pedal wont work and still barely idles.
what is going on here? seems to happen way more often if not at full operating temp. even 10 deg within its running range and will still tempt its fate with a crusher.
Guessing the signals from the pedal position sensor are conflicting causing shut down. I think there's some corrosion in there. On mine it clears up after a few pumps of the pedal. Could be wiring on yours to.
Check the wiring connections, replace the pedal position sensor. Changing the sensor only (not the whole pedal assembly) is cheap.
