Hooker Header Track Improvements A couple months ago I had Hooker LT Headers and a Hooker Catback installed on my 01 Z28 Camaro. My previous exhaust was a SLP Loud Mouth, Dynomax Bullet and a SLP Y-Pipe.
Yesterday I finally had a chance to take it to the track. I consistently ran 12.54 sec at 108.2 mph with a 1.78 sec 60ft time. With my previous setup I was running 12.87 sec at 105.3 mph with a 1.82 sec 60ft time.
When I had the headers installed, I had them do a before and after Dyno that showed a 19 hp and 25 ft-lb. improvement.
I was hoping for a little better trap speed than 108.2 mph. However, quarter mile improvements of 0.33 seconds and 2.9 mph would be about what I should expect from a 19 hp and 25 ft-lbs. of improved rear wheel performance gain.
Now I just need to talk my wife into letting me spend the money to have an either a TR224 114 LSA or a Lunati B1 Cam installed. That would put me much closer to my 12.0 second quarter mile goal.
