It's pretty straight forward. You'll need to reuse your front accessories & WP, oil pan (invest in a new pickup at the least) and intake manifold. You'll also need to drill & tap a bolt hole on the driver side for the alternator bracket and you'll have 1 bolt that isn't used there. As I recall everything else should be fine. You may also want to replace the knock sensors and harness while you have the intake manifold off.

You'll likely need to pull a head to see if the pistons are flat tops or dished to tell if it's an LQ4 or LQ9.

The bell housing will bolt right to the motor right? Only the 99 and 00 won't fit cause of the crank correct?

The bell housing will work. The early year 6.0's had the longer crank snout, then gm decided it was cheaper to build the engine with the regular length snout and use a spacer between the crank / flexplate instead. It's still a gen III engine so everything will swap over.

01 up direct bolt in bell housing and everything is identical
You will need to reuse your intake, front accessories, coilpacks and brackets and oil pan. flywheel, clutch

If you old engine grenaded oil pan needs to be cleaned super well and if it puked valve parts piston fragments etc It is good idea to replace the intake cause it can puke debris into the intake that will damage your new engine.

Hard to tell if it's an lq9 or lq4 without knowing what exactly is came out of or looking at the pistons. Dished is lq4 lq9 is flat. Do you know what vehicle it's from?

Did this swap last year. Pretty much identical blocks... But you might want to keep your heads, depending on your situation.
