Installed catback...fitment concerns...pictures inside
I installed a Flowmaster 3" catback last night, and I spent a LONG LONG time trying to get a good fit over the axle, but I could not. I only have somewhere between 1/8 to 1/4 inch of space between the exhaust pipe and that bar that parallels the panhard bar (whatever that is). That is all I could get out of, not matter how I arranged it. I drove it around and I didn't hear any banging, but with it being so close I am just waiting for it. Have any of you guys seen a problem like this before? Here are some pictures showing how close it is. Also...are the pipes supposed to be angled down slightly at the rear? The only way I could imagine getting them straight would mean having the muffler hang down much further than I would think is normal. Thanks in advance for your input on this!

I have this catback. There are some pics on my website that may show you how close mine is. I have no rattles, but some drone. I also have the slp y-pipe. You may want to try notching the bar a little or grinding a little material off the top. www.clemson.edu/~jaander Good luck.

If it does start hitting just go to a muffler shop and have them jam a rubber grommet underneath there. All my previous catbacks have been close but never hit. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
