Default C5 Blackwing filter on my Camaro

I wanted to get rid of my old intake set up (old K&N 6"cone) and car came with an LT1 radiator support from the hood kit (Suncoast Ultra Z) the previous owner put on. I recently got a Blackwing C5 air filter for $70 and scored a LS1 radiator support at the junkyard for $8. I trimmed up the LS1 radiator support, cut about an inch on the underside of the hood air box, and the Blackwing fit perfect with no rubbing. I have on order the SLP Blackwing filter recharge kit (who ever had this one used K&N oil) and a C5 smooth bellow to get rid of the my factory one from filter to mass air.

Well that's different. Not sure it would be better than or as good as a lid though.

It is better than a lid on my car. The hood that is on it is a ram air hood, so the cold air coming in hits directly onto the top of the filter. I would have bought a volant set up, but this is a better alternative.
