Default loudmouth

I was wondering if the loudmouth system is the same as a glass pack muffler.

No....Its a resonator. Nothing but a 15"x4" hollow piece of pipe.

SLP sells the resonators by themself, but I would suggest buying the Loudmouth. The resonator for the LM does not go in the location of the stock muffler. I had the LM on my 02 SS and I loved it. It is a little too loud for some, but not for me. Just make sure that if you are going to install it yourself you take your time. Make sure that everything is tight. It might not be a bad idea to have everything welded once you intsall it.

I was able to install it in a couple of hours and the fit was perfect.

Right, the resonator goes in the I pipe, which splits into a Y pipe at the *** which your tips would come off of.

Just curious, why do you want the stock tips back on? do you have a Camaro?

The SLP tips (3.5 slash cut) look so much better than the stock WS.6 tips, IMO

LM is a love-hate exhaust. Personally, I am getting sick of mine, just like everyone said I would. At first I loved it, but its starting to get to me. It sounds un-tuned and raw, although bad-***. Its a great exhaust for the price, gains, and the sound is good, for a while. IMO, it just gets a little old. It's louder with stock manifolds and cats when some cat-backs with LT's. What I dont like is the drone from 1800-2200, its just crappy and annoying. Make sure you hear it in person and ride in a car with it before you buy it, if thats what youre considering.

You're gonna say bye bye cats, and "HELLO" rasp !! If you remove the stock cats, be sure to get some highflow replacements.

That's what I'm doing now.. wish I had listened to everyone that warned me in the beginning. Would have been alot easier and cheaper..

I concur BorlaMouth sound absolutely rocks I wish I did the Borla conversion sooner instead of living with the LM rasp and drone for so long.

I'll find out soon enough... My JetHots are scheduled to arrive tomorrow w/ Hooker ory. I already have the XR1 patiently waiting to take the resonators place. I cant wait.

I dont think they sell it seperate. Best bet is to search the classifieds here or on other boards, or even ebay, for someone who is. You could pick up a Dynomax bullet for dirt cheap. It'll still be loud but w/ a more refined sound. Plus you wont have to wait for someone else to sell one. Just a thought.

Side by side they look almost identical. The difference is inside. The LM resonator is just a tube, wide open. The Dynomax is a muffler, baffles on the inside. It will be quieter, but still loud. Depending on what you're running now, it might be a better bet anyhow. Especially if you're not running cats.

Here's a link- http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...26&prmenbr=361

You'd be looking to get either pn#289-24219, or 289-24222. The 18" should be a little quieter than the 12".
