So it pops into gear? I used to have an 02 Z28 and it started popping out of 3rd gear as soon and I let the clutch out after shifting. It was bad syncros and I had to buy a news trans.

Yeah it pops into gear I'm not sure if it is the syncros or if it could be a bushing causing the transmission to be turned on its side a little bit not allowing it to go into gear all the way and it doesn't act like a syncro to my knowledge because it doesn't grind or anything.

That's a strange one man i've never heard of a trans popping into gear only out cuz of worn out syncros. I'm sure there are some guys on here that know alot more about it than me lol. When mine did it I got a quote on a trans rebuild and it was alot more than buying a reman due to the expense of the brass parts. I got a reman for about 1,800 which actually wasn't too bad but that was back in 06 not sure how much they are now.

I guess I'll be "that guy" and say "It might help if this was in the right section".

haha I'm just teasing you! But really you're more likely to get help from knowledge people if you post this in the Manual Transmission section. Good Luck

Could be a damaged shifter fork. Seems plausible since its 1st and 2nd only.
