whats "pacesetter caty"?
Do yu have cats on the car?

When i put on my jet hots i used the gaskets they gave me and after about 2000 rpm's it would sound like metal on metal contact (loud clacking) extremely loud. It turned out the gaskets from jet hot were crap. I got some new metal GM gaskets and everything was fine. Open your hood with the car on and give it some gas from the throttle body if it sounds like its coming from where the headers bolt to the heads get some GM gaskets. If it is coming from somewhere after the headers it something else. Hope this helps you a little.

I also think one of the bolts may not have been tightened all the way. The first thing is to pin point where exactly its coming from.

if this makes a diff, the tubes come back to the y-pipe, then the y connects to the caty, the caty is in park of the catback system. if yall are familiar in the SLP 3" catback exhaut, from y pipe it goes back to a blown out pipe about 5-7 in(it was totaly empty) then returns to normal then goes over the axle to the split of the two tail pipes. well the muffler guy hackd off that 5-7 thing and put the caty their, so if yall understood that all, and think that maybe taht had somthing to do wit this nosie plz post!

it might just be normal rasp, does it literally sound like metal banging on something or does it just sound like your motor sounds like ****? If its the normal rasp then a nice smooth y pipe might help you out. A sound clip would help alot.

at start up it doesnt do it, then at idle it doesnt do it, driving it doesnt do it, just when i punch it it makes a clack clack clack like 100 clacks in one second. my dad said its just air escaping the exhasut but paying money for a car to soud like **** when raceing a civic isnt worth it to me if this is normal to make a gay, embarassing sound.

go to a muffler shop and have them weld in bullet (round muffler ) in place of the resonator on your loudmouth. If the sound decreases alot its probably rasp. I had it at one time and I was embarrased to get on my car as well. I had the same symptoms as you too. At idle and part throttle everything was cool. At WOT it was really embarrasing. I switched to true duals and the rasp went away. I am betting a good y pipe though combined with an actual muffler instead of the loudmouth resonator will help a good bit on your car.

If it was me I would go to the muffler shop and have them take out the loudmouth resonater and place a bullett muffler in its place. If the sound goes down alot but not fully I would then replace the Y pipe with a very nice smooth flowing Y. You still might have another problem but what you are describing sounds like rasp to me.
