i gotta get a new lid myself. My whisper lid i have with the nitrous kit plumbed into it, the tabs are cracking off now. Doesn't seem to leak but it doesnt look very good. I noticed that Summit now carries SLP stuff...100 bones for the lid...i've always heard bad things about their lid and how it doesnt fit right and blah blah blah...id definately be interested in the SLP lid but Id have to hear a few more people say it has worked great for them before i drop my 100 bucks into one.

btw has anyone used the new Krylon Fusion spray paint to paint a lid or any plastic parts? a buddy of mine just used it to paint interior parts in his 84 bronco and it seems to work pretty nicely. just wondering if anyone has used it on their lid yet.

I have the MTI clear lid and it fits perfect....I had no problems putting it on and it hasnt moved at all since i put it on. Not only does it perform and fit great but it looks great to I think the clear looks real good.

There are two SLP lids. The aftermarket one that says "SLP" for 100 bucks is the one I had on my first car, fit perfect although I thought it looked cheap (as most aftermarket ones do). But on my friend's SS it rubbed the hood (non-factory replacement hood though).

The 345 hp pkg. O.E. lid, or Blackwing lid, is a different lid all together. This is the one on my second car. It is by far the best fitting, best quality one I've seen; it is, after all, an O.E. peice. My only beef is it keeps the oval shaped bridge for clearence so it might not perform as well.

Another vote for MTI. I have the Carbonfiber lid. Mine fits great into the tabs of my WS6 looks sweet and made high hp and had the most M.P.H. in the traps in GM Hi Tech Performance lid shootout
