wow i greatly appreciate all the info and advice... one last question, so when I remove all the hoses and stuff for the AIR do I have to remove all the electrical crap too? like the AIR solenoid and all that?

I also want to get an intake mani...lookin at the BBK SSI with the 85mm BBK throttle body. FEEBACK PLZ!! just want more air goin in, dont want nothing to crazy.

All of it. The two electrical connections ( for the solenoid by the intake and pump down in the left front of the car) can be taped off and tucked away.

As for the intake that is a whole different can of worms. I still have my LS6 with ported TB so I can't offer much when it comes to other options. I think the BBK is made of an alloy so there will be those that will find fault with it due to heat soak. If I had my choice I would go with a ported Fast 92.

I would and also have a sponsor port the stock TB. Aftermarket heads and cam demand more air so IMO that is when a new intake should be considered. When getting a new lid make sure it's without the provision for the hose that runs to the air pump.

Unless you are going crazy with other mods just keep the LS6 intake and have the throttle body ported.

As for the lid, is your car a 345hp edition with the blackwing lid? If so just keep that lid as none really flow any better and especially aren't worth the extra cost.

If you have a standard z28 style lid then I would get the FTP 98mm lid and call it good.

ANOTHER UPDATE 03/25

hey guys so I got my BBK headers installed yesterday. I had a friend install them for me and he only did it in 4 hours. he did a badass job and if anyone in the Bay Area, CA needs to do some work shot me a PM and ill refer you to him. I had everything he needed to do the install and it went in perfect. He didn't have to move anything out of the way and they tucked up real nice.

I also did my spark plugs just cuz it was convenient although my car only has 20k miles on the odom.... I also did a Dyno Tune over at Newtech Performance also in the Bay Area. Nick definitely knows his ****. man did wonders on the tune and his prices are very competitive.

So the bolt ons that I did on the car were; BBK LT headers with the ORY from them, SLP Lid, NGK Spark plugs and MSD wires, and then the Dyno Tune. so my first run the car had 310HP, after tuning it and what not it got up to 360HP so a very good jump and decent for what I'm lookin to do with the car. The exhaust I have is the SLP loud mouth 1 and it sounds beastly. heres a pic of the headers installed...click "MY VIDEO" for the dyno!!

oh and yes I got rid of the stupid AIR system...came out pretty easy! thanks guys

Thanx for that last picture. I was looking for exactly that to answer a fitment problem.

Why are there 4 O2 sensors?

for me, a guy that doesn't need/want extreme power, im satisfied with the power I did gain! I cant compare the 2.5" to the 3" because I've never had the 3", so I don't think I can answer the performance question but I can tell you that I do notice a huge difference in it for the positive.

i dont know i find 360hp pretty impressive out of a stock ls1, although i am very new to the ls game. Hoping to get some headers done on my car this summer, we shall only see.

360HP with full exhaust and tune on a stock motor? I hope your tuner travels nationwide.

I wouldn't worry about the 2.5" pipes unless you plan to be +500 fwhp.
Anyway, the first restriction is the singe 3" outlet.
