Is this supposed to be there?

I have a 2000 Trans Am ws6 Convertible. And I was looking at my engine yesterday and noticed that the transmission dipstick comes out over the fuel rails and sticks up right there. I thought about getting some custom made fuel rail covers and this seems to pose a problem for them. I was wondering if anyone elses car had there Transmission dipstick located there? All the engine pics I have seen, do not. If its not supposed to be there, would someone post a pic of where it should be located? I will try to get a pic up of where mine is located now. Thanx

I was thinking of ordering some of the Afterthoughts Fuel Rail Covers, wont this pose a problem when I try to install them?

You are looking at pics of M6 cars that don't have a tranny dip stick.

You will probably need to notch the FRC for the tranny dipstick. (...and other protruding things).

The tranny dipstick should extend over the top of the pass side FRC.
