What head bolts? 5.3... And I have an unknown year 5.3 short block. I've tried every set of head bolts at oreilleys and none fit. I'm just trying to mock it up with my 241 heads and nothing fits! Any help is appreciated!
The head bolts are hard to find; doubt you'd find them at most stores. They are all 11mmx2.0 the length varies, but the threads are the same. The ten closest to the valley are the only ones that are standard metric 8mmx1.25.
Run a caliper down the outside 11mm bolt holes, and one of the center, if they are the same depth, it is later model short bolt block, otherwise it is an early Gen III with the unequal length 11mm bolts.
