Default Help with aem uego wideband.

So i have ran out of ideas of what the problem with my new AEM wideband could be. I have tested it with gasoline in a rag to make sure the sensor reads at 10.0 like it is supposed to and it works. But when i install it in the exhaust it will just read either --- for fresh air or sometimes jump to 17.5 and hold steady. I had the bung professionally installed and welded in with no leaks. It is on a LQ9 engine with a F1R. Any ideas at all would be appreciated.

What does it do at idle? How much does it jump around at idle and when you are driving around? I have this same unit and mine works fine. It does tend to jump around quite a bit, but I guess that's just it doing its job.

At idle is where it is mostly just at --- sometimes i see a 17 something. Now when i rev the car it jumps all over the place down to around 12 or 11 at the lowest then just goes back to ---. Also when i tested the sensor the car was not started. The way i have it wired in into the same power wire as my boost gauge is it possible that when i start the car the gauge is not getting the power that it should and causing it to read in correctly?

Doesn't ---- mean it is reading past the highest lean reading? I would think if it wasn't wired up right, it wouldn't read anything at all.

Mine idles anywhere between 14 to 15 and when cruising around it is between 16 and 17.5. At WOT, it is around 13 to 14. My tune needs adjusted becsuse it is way too lean, but not terrible at WOT.

yes it does it means fresh air but looking more i think i may have a bad sensor. When you test the sensor you must leave it in the rag for around a minute to make sure it does not go back to reading --- after dropping to 10. I had just simply stuffed in it a rag and it read 10 so i took it out figuring that it worked. So first thing tom that will be the first thing that i try followed by re checking and wiring it again if i must.

I did not test mine before installing it. I guess I can unscrew it and test it with the car off. I didn't know you were supposed to.

Could it just be that the thne is super lean at idle? Have you done any data logging driving it to see where the air/fuel is at during differnt rpm's?
