Default Guys with Poly motor mounts

I'm getting some ORP banging (I hope that is what this freakin noise is) After going under there and tightening stuff up it IS WORSE. Almost unbearable to drive the damn car.

I'm thinking a Poly motor mount on the drivers side. Couple of questions:

1. How bad is this going to shake the car. I have the cam and headers so the car isn't exactly smooth as is but I also put a poly tranny mount in my old A4 car and it drove me a little crazy.

2. Do I have to remove the drivers side header to get to it? I have Kooks??

Any opinions, experiences would be appreciated!!!

Bobby

If you just install the motor mounts you should be O.K. You probably won't notice much more vibration compared to the stock motor mounts. Just don't install the trans mount, that's were you'll get a lot of vibration. I found that out the hard way. Also, this should stop, or significantly reduce your ORP banging. The poly motor mounts completely stopped my y-pipe banging. As for install, I have SLP LT's and I didn't have to remove them to install the mounts. Not sure about an install with KOOKs, but I would guess that you wouldn't have to remove them.

Hope that helps,

JIm

You won't notice much more vibration from just the motor mount. I have Kook's and installed the driver's side motor mount with the header on. It was a MAJOR pain to intall though (we even had a lift), and it might be worth your time to take the header out.

Here's a good tip on the motor mount: before taking the two halves apart, take a knife and scratch them on the edge so you can line them up exactly as they were before. Do this and then run a drill through the two mounting holes that have plates overlapping to make sure they are lined up good. This would have saved me about six hours if I knew when I did mine. When I did this when doing the motor mount on a buddy's car, it went much smoother.

I installed both sides.

When I did the passenger's side I unbolted the A/C, but left the lines connected, and swung it to the side.
