Default alternator question

I have been researching but haven't come up with anything or found the answer I need I am working on my wiring on my 02 5.3 swap in my 71 nova it is fuel injected I want to hook up my gen light for the indicator for the alternator can I just tie in to the charge indicator going to the PCM or just remove this wire at the PCM and wire it into my factory wiring and let it do what the PCM is doing

Which alternator are you using? Does it have a two or four wire regulator?
