How much is a 5.3 engine worth?

I've been looking around for a set of 799 or 243 heads. I came across a guy who had replaced the engine out of a 2007 silverado, I believe the engine had spun a bearing which is why it was replaced. But the motor had 799 casting heads, yet the owner will only sell the whole engine because he needs it for a core. He said he would sell it for 300 It is complete with injectors, intake, everything but the computer and wiring harness. Is this worth the price?

Are you crazy?

The heads alone are 400, 75 for the valve covers, 100 for the injectors... Yes. It's worth it.

If it was an aluminum block I'd be all over it bc I'm looking for a trashed one to sleeve.

I had a feeling it was worth it, but I can be a tight wad at times haha.

I might go pick it up today. These heads are a good replacement for the 853's correct? Or do I need to do some porting and polishing on them to make them completely worth it?

Damn. That's a steal . Only a fool would sell a 799 headed motor that cheap and only a fool would pass it up. ****** that motor now!!
