Default QTP header Installation ** NEED HELP **

Ok guys this prob has been kicking our asses for the last couple of hours. I have got a set of QTP LT's with 1 7/8 primaries and we cannot get the damn driver side header on. The friend of mine I brought them from said he was able to put his on in like 20 sec's, but they just wont go in, we both have 2002 camaro's, only diff is that mine is an SS and his is a Z. The passenger side goes in without a problem, but we keep hitting between the block and fenderwell and firewall. We removed the oil filter and still no dice. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx

You could try grinding that small tab (about 1" square) on the side of the block. Or, disconnect the steering linkage. Those seem to be the common ways to get a stubborn header in place.

I did mine a week or two ago and like you the passenger side was a breeze but the drivers side was a little more difficult.

We finally wound up jacking up the engine, removing the motor mount and loosening the alternator and it slid up.

I installed mine a few weeks ago and I had to remove the drain plug, oil filter, and steering column and it went right in.

Sweeeeet!!! Removing the drain plug did the trick. We removed the filter, knuckel and struggled for like 2 hours trying to get it put in, and we let the oil drain and the damn thing slid right in to place. Thanx guys for all the help it is greatly appreciated.

I did the same... slid right in after that! And you get an oil change at the same time! Two birds with one stone!
