I don't think any of them will really make that much of a difference with stock manifolds.

none, unless you can get it for absolutely cheap. the "im not going to get headers" bit doesnt last long, trust me . once you get LT's or mids you'll need a new Y pipe anyway so why spend the money twice.

also whats your reasoning for wanting to remove the stock Y and cats? if its for HP dont bother either since gains are minimal. if its for sound just get a cutout or better yet dont do anything since LM sounds awesome w/ stock manifolds and cats.

Like they said, since you're doing it for sound just get a cutout... But if you're gonna go with an ory.. Just buy yourself a flowmaster collector and let an exhaust shop fab one for ya..

Good luck!

What do you mean cutouts are 285? $30 for a cutout ($20-$40) for install.

Street Pro has done a number of installations with factory Y pipes and the cats left in place. The sound is great -- a nice "deep" mellow sound AND we have gotten +12 to +16 HP gains proven on the dyno. Please take a look at our web site WWW.streetpro.us and click on "products" then click on the small F-Body photo next to "Street / Strip Diverter". Thanks !

i dont want a deep mellow refined tune. I want a nasty raspy rediculous noise. And electrip cutouts like QTP are over 200 bucks. Id rather get a Y pipe. And im 100% not gettin headers.

1. i cant afford it
2. i dont want them

without cats the LM sounds like absolute ****. I used to have the LM and I loved it. Just stick w/ what you have until you get your headers(its inevitable)

what is your goal then? If you remove your cats your warrantee will be void. Sure you can put them back on, but thats a pain in the ***. There is on 2-3 RWHP to be had by an ory with stock manifolds. And dont get all uptight, I was just offering a suggestion. If you really must have the loudest exhaust on the planet, gut your cats,(free) and either leave the LM alone or weld in a bullet in place of the resonator. The loudmouth w/ no cats will be so f***ing loud, itll raise the dead.(not to metion grab all kinds of attention from the cops) Hope this helps

Do you want the sound an old pickup with straight pipes makes? If you gut the cats you'll get that, LOUD but raspy and very unrefined and a lot of people will not like how it sounds at all, but you will grab their attention at least since it is loud. If it's attention you are after you can gut the cats for free. As for headers voiding warranty, have you talked to your local dealer? They are all different and according to the law they would have to prove that what you did caused whatever part you try to get fixed under warranty to go bad. I previously bought the loudmouth, within months of getting car, thinking I would not have headers for years b/c of price. Well, that didn't last long. Not only that, I thought the loudmouth sounded good and loved it. Then I heard a few really nice sounding cars and ditched it when I got headers

how is his opinion not valid, he used to be a LM owner

do what you want with your exhaust, its your car. just dont make a post saying that your car sounds like **** w/o cats or its too loud because all you'll get is an "i told you so".

Im on my 8th (i think) exhaust set up. One of them being stock manifolds, ory (bassani), and loudmouth. it sounds like a fart can. its not a cool nasty "you just woke my *** up at 5am after being up all night with the *****" sound. its a "my girlfriend only ate beans and apricots all week for breakfast lunch and dinner and now i'm trying to hit the poop chute" disgusting sound. you dont want to do it. and reguarding headers and warrenties..

1. you'll find a way to afford them eventually
2. if you don't want them you are missing out.
3. even if you want to keep your warrenty, most dealerships will **** you out of it if there is ANYTHING aftermarket on the car...

with that said WARRENTY = POOCHIE PAPER....so get those lt's and get to wipin'

btw... you are slightly misinformed about the cost of an ory. only a few companies make them for stock manifolds and they are upwards of 250 bucks. slp makes one for around 160 (i believe), but that is shortened so that you retain your factory cat placement. the pipe hooks up to your factory cats, not your manifolds.

get a cut out in the i pipe, a manual one for about 30 bucks, and another 20-40 for install and you are set. and it sounds a lot better than the slp loudmouth without cats.

Very wrong. A dealer can only void a warranty on a part, if an aftermarket caused that part to fail. If you put on underdrive pullies, and your waterpump goes, your done.

Putting on headers, is no reason for them to not warranty your intake manifold, or your alternator, etc.

If anyone does have any problems with this, contact a lawyer and SEMA. In fact SEMA will stand by you, and go to bat with you and help you fight the fight.

As for Slick there.... he has had at least 8 different exhaust setups.

Do Longtubes!
