Im pretty sure the Summit catback is the same as the Jegs brand catback which are made by Heart Throb exhaust. I had the Jegs catback on my 99 Trans am, the fitment of the system was pretty good, it comes with no tips but i used corsa tips i had laying around. That system uses their Hvs muffler which is a chambered muffler kind of like a 80 series Flowmaster but slightly different internally.
When the car had stock manifolds and cats it sounded pretty good, deep idle and smooth deep tone when revving and going through the gears. Once i added longtubes and a ory it was terrible, it had more rasp than any car ive ever heard and the tone was terrible. I had a texas speed y pipe on it so the merge was pretty decent, it just flat out sounded bad. That lasted all of about a week then i went true duals and never looked back.
For the money its a "ok" system, If i ever go back to a stock type exhaust on my car i will get a Hooker Catback, i had one of my 98 z28 and with longtubes and a ory it had awesome tone, zero rasp and didnt drone in the car.

It was aluminized steel. Fit great and was full 3" all the way to the muffler. Tips were 2.5". As far as rasp it had very little but this is a 6spd car so I could driver around it. The only time I ever noticed any rasp was to high of a gear and too low of an rpm. Other than that I thought for $260 it was a well made system. I eventually pulled the muffler and stuck a 3" single in/out Hooker Aerochamber on it and dumped it behind the muffler. Absolutely loved that muffler!!
