Default Should i be concerned???

My JetHots arrived today. The driver side is perfect. Here's some shots of the passenger side.

It's not THAT bad... But sucks nonetheless. Just my luck, too.

So do you think thats an easy fix at an exhaust shop, or should i get a new one shipped?

You didn't pay for beat up headers so accept them, see what you need to do to return the damaged one. JMO

Judgement call. Can you live without them for a couple of weeks?
Call the shop you got them from and see what they have to say.

My vote is to try and get the exhaust shop can put them on, see if the can get them to fit. Unless they were coated and the coating is peeled off. They don't look coated in the picks.

Hmmm tough call?? I would prolly try to lighty bang it out and try to fit it up to the same size you going to install it to. I assume that will go inside of the y-pipe or are you going to have it butt welded togather?? If it's going to fit OVER the y-pipe then i'd be more worried about a leak because a clamp wont seal that up very well. Good luck!!

oh wow damn that sucks!!!!! ....... geesh people worry about the smallest things lol. Take it to the exhaust shop they have an expander that they can put in there and it will open up the bent part and make the outlet perfect. Won't take them but 20 seconds.

Any able exhaust shop should be able to fix that no problem. Just take your headers in and tell them to weld on some 3-bolt flanges. If youre like me, youve prolly waited long enough for your headers and dont plan on waiting any longer. Are you doing it your self or are you having someone do it? If you take it to a shop, it might get a little expensive. 600-1200 from what Ive heard. Its really not that hard to put them in yourself. If you have tools and basic knowledge you owe it to yourself to give it a try

i just recieved my headders and one of them was like that, i waited long enough due to a back order and a redesign problem so i just saved my breath and time and took a hammer to it and lightly banged it out

Thats what i was thought. The coating isnt damaged at all, just a little out of round.

Thanks everybody for the replies!

On a side note- I plan on having a shop do the install. Along w/ a Xr1 muffler thats currently collecting dust, Verter, shift kit, cooler, and LS6 manifold that ill be picking up some time next month. Along w/ some other goodies. Gonna kill alot of birds w/ one stone.

Its been 1.5 years since my last mod, so the time has come.

Hey let me make 1 recommendation. Get the flowmaster exhaust connectors. They don't use gaskets and only need 2 bolts to hold the exhaust together. Freaking excellent in my book, I'm using them now with no problems. They are similar to the design used on the mustang aftermarket h-pipes if you know what I mean, if not lemme know and I'll see if I can find a good pic.

I've got a cool tool at work which would basically just fit in there. You adjust the size with a bolt in the back to expand it, and then roll the tool around 360 with the handle and it will round the damage out. I would expect any reputable exhaust shop to have one. It would take all of 20 seconds.

If the coating was damaged, I'd send them back. But since it's not, its an easy fix...
