Default Long tubes with existing ORY

Hi all,
I'm looking to get some Long tubes to add to my 99 WS6 over the winter and I think I've decided to go with the TSP ones based on all the reviews here. I just haven't decided if I'll go 1-3/4 or 1-7/8 Not looking to do anything crazy with the car. Just headers, LS6 intake and CAM
I currently have an ORY installed on my car now but I'm not sure brand etc as it was put on the the previous owner. When I got the car, I put on some high flow spun bullet cats and just cut/welded them into the ORY. My question is, is should I be purchasing a new Y when I get the new headers or can I use the one I've got on there already? If I have to do a bit of cutting, etc. I'm ok with that, but if the pipe needs to be totally butchered, etc. then I might just get a new one with the headers.

Thoughts?

No you're better off buying a matching y-pipe with those headers

I'd go with 1 7/8's and a new y pipe. It's been proven that there are no losses in low end torque with the bigger primary's and should be worth some additional hp when you add a cam. As for the y pipe it's only $130 when you buy it with headers it's 3" stainless steel and has a nice high flow merge. You may also want to look into Speed Engineering headers and y pipe they're cheaper but haven't been around as long to build up as good of a reputation, I personally would have a hard time choosing between the 2.

I've never heard of the speed engineering LTs. I looked them up. Pricing on the headers alone looked good but the price to include the Y pipe was over 3x the price of just the headers alone. Makes no sense....

There y pipes are out of stock so they put the price stupid high, it's normally the same as TSP. Not sure why they thought that was a good idea but it's what they did.
