Default NGK vs Denso

I hope this is in the right section, if not can a moderator please move it? thanks.

Anyway, I just got a 224 put in my car, and instead of putting in the normal NGK T-55's in, I put in Denso irridium plugs. Has anyone had any experience with them? Should i keep them or should I get the NGK's?

Iridium's are an expensive plug for virtually no benefit, other than they are suppose to last 100,000 miles. I have heard a few people say that when they pulled their plug to check on it, that the Iridium tip was missing, it could just be a bad laser weld by Denso. I personally have never run them though. $1.50 NGK, I can buy alot of compared to a $12.99 Denso. YMMV.

You'll probably notice a slightly better idle from the Iridium plugs. They will last longer under ideal conditions. I have seen small HP gains on certain motorcycles due to NGK iridium plugs. No guarantees you'll see HP gains.

It is a superior plug material but,I personally do not think they are worth it due to the very high price.

NGK TR55IX is the stock heat range replacement in Iridium. The IX suffix is what denotes an iridium plug from NGK.

If you already have them, leave them in.

From what I have seen you will notice no difference between the two plugs. Denso and NGK make great plugs. It's really a matter of preference.

My 98 T/As ignition coils are made by Denso. They make OE quality stuff.
