Question about Duals without x or H pipe
I have an All stock ls1 motor with no cats.
Y pipe was cut so each pipe goes into each classic chambered bullet muffler.
It kinda sounds flat and little tone.
Am I leaving anything on the table sound wise by not having an x or H pipe?
in most instances an improperly placed/designed X pipe setup will actually kill power.
Y pipe setups sometimes make more power than both if proper pipe size/merge is used. (i have a 4" mandrel Y setup)
sound-wise youll just be merging the gasses together so they dont sound like each pipe is firing at a different time bank to bank.
You can also see what I mean by no x pipe or H pipe.

Basically it's one bullet muffler per header.
I'm looking for exhaust sound variation, car has stock cam but I was expecting little bit more chop?
With the current set up , I guess if each pipe is firing at different times there is no balanced tone making it sound flat?
