Default Alternator wiring question

I've relocated my alternator to the passenger side head. It's been a while since i tore it apart so I'm having problems remembering. There is just one red wire coming into the pigtail that will plug into the alternator. There is also the stud on the back with a nut, I'm assuming this is the ground? What I'm
Having trouble with is I always thought there was an exciter wire? Someone help me out please.

Yea just one red wire to the connector and the positive side of the battery goes to that stud on the alternator. I just bought a big 3 kit from innovative wiring so I'm familiar with what your looking for.

Ok man. I figured their had to be an exciter wire and a ground? I'll just do that though, it's what I was thinking anyways. What size cable did they use on their harness from battery to alternator?

Use at least a 6ga. wire to your Bat +, you shouldn't need to ground the alt. housing and even then most are grounded by being bolted to a grounded engine but adding a ground can't hurt and might help. There is a ground in your 4 pin plug but it's for the Alt/charge light in your inst. cluster.
