Default Thoughts on repairing this Fast78 manifold
Just wanted to post this up and get some opinions. USPS decided to rough up the box and successfully chip of the lip of a Fast78 manifold i bought. The seller was great about everything and we worked out a deal and now here we are.

I am guessing i could try to epoxy the 2 pieces back on (i have both pieces and they fit back together perfectly) and then go from there. I am going to change out all of the gaskets and seals and then give it a shot.

Think it will cause any issues with installing? I wouldnt think it would leak or anything. I am hoping its purely a cosmetic thing.

Can't be sure but doesn't look like it would effect the install if you can epoxy it right

I shot some pictures over to Tony Mamo. Thinking about sending it off to him to get it ported. He said it would be purely superficial and shouldnt impact anything at all. Hopefully that will be the case. He did comment on how dirty it was though and that i had my hands full in cleaning it. LOL

I'd definitely trust Tony if that's what he says. Before I got my Fast 90 I almost bought a 78 and called Tony to have it ported. He said with his porting even the 78 would be worth around 15-18 hp over the LS6. That's pretty good considering it's no bigger than the LS6 intake

Yep. So far Tony has been awesome answering all of my stupid questions. I am really tempted to jump on a set of his new cylinder heads too. Just gott work it out in the budget. LOL

Nice! If I didn't have heads already i'd seriously consider some of his AFR heads as well. What's the rest of your setup?

Where it's chipped will have no impact on performance. I'd JB weld it and take a dremel to it and smooth it off

Tear down will happen early summer. Its a very mild street geared build. The fast will be going on, GT2- cam, heads, ARH headers and Y, GMMG exhaust, SLP lid with FTRA, ported TB, UD pulley, and 3.42 gears. Saving a convertor for down the road if it comes to it.

My house looks like a freakin performance shop warehouse right now. LOL
