Default Question regaring cat back

I just picked this catback up for $60 for my 00 z28. Quad tips and a cutout. Supposedly its the "Stock Slp" Muffler.. at 1st I figured I would be getting the bullet style one before seeing it but when my buddy picked it up for me.. right away i was lost as I didn't know slp had made an exhaust/muffler like this. Maybe came of the Lt1 camaros? Any advice? I want something a bit louder than stock. Mainly want that lm1 sound. Anyone heard of an slp muffler to look like this? If so. . Is it better sounding than stock? Or is it best to just buy the bullet lm by slp?

This is a stock SLP dual/dual catback that came on SS cars, Trans Ams, as the upgraded optional stock exhaust. If you got it for $60 you got a steal! It will have a very slightly louder sound than the stock Camaro muffler, but it still very quiet. It flows phenomenal though. Does not restrict very much at all. There was no stock SLP bullet style exhaust. If you want a loudmouth, then you have to buy a loudmouth aftermarket catback. LT1 cars and early LS cars came with this as a "two out the left" design where the exhaust tips came out both on the driver side. Later versions, are as you have there. Its a fairly highly sought after setup, if you would want to sell it you should have no issues moving it for a nice profit. I have this on my car, along with a 4" cutout. This is also the factory muffler for the center mount exhaust setup but with different tips and tailpipe setup.

Ya man that would be a crime to hack that thing up they are really rare and aren't being produced anymore. With headers it will still be fairly tame but it flows as good as any aftermarket catback so no need to change in the future

You have an awesome set up. whoever sold it had no idea what it was!

By looking at the picture, it already has a cutout installed on there.
You just need the electric motor for it.

Put the slp Loudmouth bullet muffler in the I pipe before the cutout and buy a cutout motor.

When the cutout is open, your hear the loudmouth, when its closed you hear quiet.

All you need is

No need to have a loudmouth muffler before the cutout...it can just be open ypipe with cutout open, and dual dual catback closed. no reason to add rasp with the cutout open. It would sound worse with that resonator in there.

There's a good reason it was only $60.
The muffler and tips might be a SLP but the rest of it sure doesn't look like it.
I see at least 3 crush bend in it, which only hurt flow. So I wouldn't expect to see any power gain.

Muffler and tips look to be SLP D/D's but the rest of the system is not stock. No big deal but that's probably why it was so cheap. A magnaflow bullet will help calm the rasp down when the cutout is open.

I agree, the intermediate pipe isnt the stock piece. Its been redone at an exhaust shop. need to use a stock 3" intermediate pipe (pipe between the ypipe and the muffler).
