Please Help - Possible Head Mismatch?

I am looking to buy a 2000 LS1 Firebird. The driver's side head has a 853 casting, but the pass head has the casting numbers milled off (see attached picture). Without the casting number, I'm concerned that the heads could be mis-matched. I'm not even sure I can tell if it is a GM or aftermarket head.

The owner has no documentation; only knows that the head work was done at the time of the header install (by others).

Is there any way for me to identify the milled head, without removing it?

Circled area has casting number milled smooth.

casting numbers are sometimes on put on one side of the head and since the heads are not side specific the numbers on that side are most likely just on the back corner of that head.. my 243s are he same way
