Beware of all the free mod air stuff letting in power robbing IAT heat. If it doesn't come from outside of the engine bay or in front of the radiator, its hot. Timing (power) starts being pulled at a measly 86F on a 2005/6 GTO stock tune. I sealed the underside of my lid and all the crevices with metal tape and the only air getting in is through the SS hood. Critical to consistent performance and expected power always being there in places like AZ where 86F happens even in the winter time. LS1 Camaros are a little more forgiving on the IAT table most likely do to the colder air intake options. The air box in the engine bay way (LS1/2 GTO, LS3 Camaro) is a killer. Especially when people start exposing the air filter without a box to all that hot air fun.

Even then, the SS hood isn't sealed to the factory air box. The only way to pull in cold fresh air is block off the opening in the front of the air box and grab it from below via chrs1313, SSRA, FTRA SUX2BU ect..
