Default This header any good?

So I just pulled my LT off my wrecked formula, and one of the headers got some dents in it, and while both were still on the engine they kinda looked like they were pointing in the wrong direction. Just wanted to get some opinions if they can be fixed, thank you.

those are pretty beat up AND rusted. Ready for the scrap pile.

As long as there are no cracks, they should be okay. Also depends on how bad the dents are, but if it's just surface rust, they make products you can soak rusted things in which will remove all of that rust and oxidation.

For the cheap price of stainless Speed Engineering type stuff these days, those don't look like they are worth the hassle.

Good point. Speed Engineering can hook you up with stainless 1 7/8" headers for dirt cheap.

Well as far as I know these are kooks headers, so I wouldn't really want to just throw out 1000$ headers

Got any experience with any of these products? And what would be a good one?

If those are kooks they will have a tag welded to one of the primary's that says kooks. Those look like offshore made headers.

Kooks headers are high grade stainless steel. If those are Kooks, then they were laying in a kiddie pool full of salt water for many moons.

well even if they are not kooks, im a college student so money is pretty tight so id rather be able to reuse what i have

i understand the budget thing but you will be pulling those headers off in a few months when they rust all the way through. speed eng headers are 279 and are stainless. Stainless will not rust like that those are not kooks.

No way those are Kooks...high grade stainless will never rust like that even in salt water. There is a reason why they cost what they do. I would **** can those in a heart beat and pick up a set of budget stainless headers from TSP or SE.

Or if you are on a budget look for used. I just sold a set of coated hookers for 130.00. The collectors were starting to surface rust but they looked like a million bucks compared to those.

That isn't stainless steel and I would junk them. I have 15 year old exhaust mid pipes that don't look that bad. You can't live in the NE and not put SS on your car. It is asking for trouble.
