Default Ported TB Questions.

I just got the TSP ported TB. I Did not want to wait for a Shanner, Bauer or Janzer as they had no cores.

1. The screws that hold the blade on go through the shaft and stick out about 1/4 inch. Should I cut and smooth them out?

2. Do I need a new Gasket when I install it? Is there a gasket between it and the intake?

3. Are there online instructions on how to do it? it looks simple, but information always helps.

4. Should I have my car retuned after install? I have free upgrades to my ls1 edit, but is it needed?

Thanks,
Dave

Dave, those screws should have been cut, but someone here may have boxed it before I got a chance to finish it (I cut the screws off last) I usually use a cutoff wheel to cut them, but a dremel would prob work fine too. You can reuse the TB gasket as they hardly ever go bad. It is pretty simple to install (three 10mm headed bolts hold it on), I'd recommend doing the coolant bypass mod at the same time if you havn't done so already. I don't think you'll need additional tuning.

dave its extremely easy like 10-15 mins to do tops. the screws wont hurt anything really but you can cut em down. just take off the lid and maf as one piece, 3-10mm bolts and the cable its off reverse and you done. and like staed before id do the coolant bypass at the same time youl already have the hoses off

Thanks for the info. Not sure I want to tackle it before Camaro/Firebird day @NED. Car is running so great I don't want to jinks it. I will probably do it Sat night after the races, or there after I get eliminated.
